Not enough time lately to finish the next Astronaut image. In the meantime here is another of the covers I did for the Deadtime Stories series by Annette and Gina Cascone, Grandpa's Monster Movies. Another concept with a lot of sense of humor thanks to the precise art direction by Seth Lerner at TOR.
By the way, working with children and teens expressions is a difficult task to do. Figuring out their age and features is complicated since they change so fast apart from the usual complications derived from finding and working with models of those age groups. That's why I was so happy to acquire Facial Expressions Babies to Teens, A Visual Reference for Artists by Mark Simon. This book has been an incredible help for my work. I strongly recommend it for all of you realist illustrators out there.
